In Kairos 13.2, the following video is presented. I’m really not sure about remixing Hitler (or a film about him) for this. The term “grammar nazi” is pretty common and this obviously a play on that phrase, but I’ve grown uncomfortable about saying someone is a “____ nazi” ever since I started traveling in Europe.
However, the point this piece makes about multi-modal composition scholars is valid, nonetheless.
In a remix of the infamous Hitler meme—taking a scene from the movie, Downfall (2005), and adding subtitles appropriate (in this case) for Kairos readers—theamishauger makes a pointed, humorous (to some) commentary on the status of multimodal composition scholars in English departments during job market season. (See the Logging On column for more discussion about this piece.)
This video is no longer available is what I get when I click on it–youtube got offended maybe?
I was able to play it just now, so I’m not sure why it wouldn’t have worked for you, James.
