This week I wrote about how relationships are shaped by the New Media. As shown by the YouTube videos about Facebook, technology has had a powerful effect on the way we view intimacy and relationships. I believe that this technology has had both positive and negative effects–specifically, on the pro side, that people are meeting others they would never have a chance to otherwise, people with their interests. However, con-wise, these people may not be exactly right for them, they may be meeting these people at an inconvenient time, and perhaps the ease of meeting people online would lend a transient quality to the relationship founded in technology.
