Well this is an age old question, “How do we make games educational”? Well one way is for both sides in the gaming business to meet on fair grounds and sign a peace treaty. There is a huge gap between games that are fun only and educational games. Gamers see ed games as a stuck up educational minded group with fun last. Educational gamers see games that are fun only as a past time for people with tiny minds! A huge gap has been created by the two factions. People who like gaming and having fun do want to learn things they just do not want to be beat over the head with information. If we look at movies some people want to learn information after being entertained. For example, the movie 300 many people who watched the movie then googled or wikkied the movie and its characters, so people WANTED TO LEARN!!!! wow check out that motivation! If we could link games to educational information in the game it would allow learning to happen naturally! If learning happens naturally students retain the info longer. Now if we can only get the brainiacs to play nice with the gamers! OOOOWWWWEEEE thats hard!
