Dr. Devries and Fellow Classmates,
I will be conducting an “open house” ritual at my school tonight from 6:30-7:30. My colleague is out ill and I will be marshaling her room as well as mine. I will try to leave here promptly at 7:30 with the intent of arriving to class at 8pm. I’ll see how it goes.
I think that the Stoller article is a good wrap up to the semester because he discusses the concept of “memoir” in an understandable way. I think he is much clearer than Allison Pryer was in her article, “Imagining Education Research…” Stoller advocates an approach to memoir that makes sense: storytelling to attract readership.
Also, the discussion about ethnography being anthropology really got me to think about my own personal history. As I said earlier, the Stoller article is a good article to wrap up the reading for the semester.
